Depression

The seasons are changing. The sun’s coming out. And for many of us, this is the time of year when seasonal dpression begins to lift and we finally feel like venturing out into the world again.

Except this year, most of us are staying home, following shelter-in-place in order to slow spread of COVOID-19, the new coronavirus disease. It’s unfortunate thing – like me most of us decided our so much plans, goals, trips to do but this pandemic disease lead us to stick into our homes, avoiding social distances which become cause of many mental and physical health problems. And not only because COVOID-19 is running our social lines, It’s also become quite challenging because social isolation can actually make your depression worse….

For me, like for many people, self-isolation can be both a result a cause of many depressions.

When I’m feeling low, I dread socializing convince myself that nobody needs me around, restrict myself to the dark corner of my room. Thinking of myself not vulnerable for anyone and about other useless stuff too.

But then I wind up feeling lonely, disconnected from the people I love, and afraid to reach out for the support I need after avoiding people for so long. I wish I could say I’ve learned my lesson and avoid the temptation of self – isolation. I refuse to believe that it’s my civic duty to let depression get hold of me.

Research has found

That social isolation and loneliness is linked to worsened mental health as well as physical health problems.

A 2018 study of older adults showed that

Loneliness and social isolation can affect sleep quality.

And these problems are very common in those people who not doing anything except getting afraid from COVOID-19 and getting depressed. There are some ways to get out of this.

In other word’s if you’re feeling more depressed the longer staying at home, you’re not alone and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

1.Creating A Routine Can Help You

I can recognize each morning as the start of a fresh new day, rather than having emotionally difficult day fell endless.

Benjamin Franklin is quoted to have said: “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”.

By setting an alarm you can go for a lunchtime stroll, an evening outdoor meditation.

2. YOU’RE Still Allowed To Go Outside

If you can’t go outside, it doesn’t means you can’t go outside outside near your home by keeping 6 feet distance you can go outside.Actually that’s a good news considering the natural light of the outdoor is an excellent source for vitamin D.  And a point  is that it can help you fight depression.

3. Take On A Project That Brings You Joy

  • Gardning
  • Crafting
  • Writing journal
  • Cooking
  • Indoor workout

4. The state of your home environment makes a difference

Try taking one thing at a time, like clearing the pile of clothes from your bed one day and putting clean dishes away the next

Whether you’re reaching out for virtual connections or maximizing your alone time, take a moment to feel pride in the effort you’ve made so far….

You know yourself best, so even if you are alone, you’ve got a real expert on your side. I hope this will help you to cope up with your depression and overthinking during this quarantine.
