Disadvantages of drinking water while standing

While drinking water is essential to living, drinking it in the correct posture leads to healthy living. When it comes to drinking water while standing, science explains why it is harmful and how it affects our body.

We all normally drink water or any beverages while in standing position. Few of us know that drinking water in standing position has many disadvantages. We do exercise daily to keep our body fit and healthy but think for a second if we knew that the drink we are taking is causing problems and diseases in our body just because we are in standing position. How ridiculous is that isn’t it…

It is not just about drinking 8 glasses of water a day to stay healthy and hydrated. It matters in what position you have the water. Do you sit and drink water, or normally have it in passing, while standing?

When you drink your water from a bottle or a glass sitting down, the nutrients reach the brain and boost its activity. It also aids better digestion this way and ensures that you don’t feel bloated after having water.

So we should take it serious now scientist have proved this. So why should not we take it serious. I have listed some disadvantages that are as follows:

When you are standing, your body and tissues are in a state of tension. This leads the water to rapidly flow down your body, causing a disruption in the existing balance of fluids.

Disadvantages of drinking water while standing

1. It Can Cause Arthritis

When you drink water standing, the flow of water gushes down rapidly through your body only to get accumulated in your joints.


2. Splash of Water on Stomach Walls

When you are standing and drinking water, the water flows down and splashes on the stomach walls. In the long run the shock from the rushing water can cause damage to the digestive system. It can also harm your stomach wall and gastrointestinal tract.

3. Your Thirst Does Not Get Quenched

Even if you drink a full glass of water, in the correct posture it will do little to quench your thirst. It is advisable to sit and take small sips of water to quench your thirst truly.

4. Causes Bone Degeneration and Weakness

Due to the wrong posture, while consuming water, your body may experience bone degeneration and weakness.

5. Standing and Drinking Water Triggers Wrong Responses to Your Nervous System

As standing causes a lot of tension in the body and the muscles, your nervous system goes into attention mode, making your body feel out of sync with nature.

Sitting down and taking small sips of water helps in maintaining the acid levels of the body.

When you drink water in a standing position it ends up splashing the lower half of the oesophagus very hard. This in return can disturb the sphincter, which is the joint between the stomach and oesophagus, and as a result, the oesophagus experiences burning sensation because of the acids in the stomach flowing backwards.

Even Ayurveda mentions it that water must be consumed in slow, small swigs while sitting down. This helps to properly dilute the acid levels in the body by getting combined with the necessary proportion of water.

RIP:Chadwick Aaron Boseman – a legend

Like most of the other people, I also got shock when I heard about Boseman death. Nobody knew that he was suffering from cancer. Recently I watched his movie Black Panther again. He never showed us that he was sick.

He left us with a message that

Who was Chadwick Boseman?

Chadwick Aaron Boseman was an American actor. He portrayed several real-life historical figures, such as Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get on Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall. He was born on November 29, 1976 and died on 28 August 2020 at age of 42

In my culture, death is not the end, it’s more of a stepping off points. You reach out with both hands and Bast and Sekhmet, they lead you in a green veld where…you can run forever.

He is considered as a legend. Although he was suffering from colon cancer but he never showed and never led his disease come to his path of success. He is considered as hero

Legends usually have heroic characters associated with them or even fantasy places. They may even encompass the spiritual beliefs of a particular culture. Legends have a moral/message to convery. And Chadwick Boseman is one of the legendary person

Chadwick Boseman died yesterday at the age of 43 was the revelation that the actor had spent the last four years battling colon cancer. This timeline means he was diagnosed in 2016—the year that he debuted as King T’Challa in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. And it means that after his diagnosis, Boseman filmed and appeared in Marshall, Black Panther, two more Avengers movies, 21 Bridges, Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, and an upcoming adaptation of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

He was quietly undergoing many surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy.

He was cast as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in the 2013 biopic 42. The only other person who had played Robinson in a movie before was Robinson himself, and yet here was a virtual unknown taking on the part with confidence and grace. So much of the film, directed by Brian Helgeland, deals with Robinson’s struggle to control his anger as he’s subject to racist abuse by fans and players, and Boseman’s performance simmers with heroic restraint.

Quarter-life, midlife crises. As we age we see ourselves changing physically and mentally. We met different people at different times and we have different feelings for all of them. During this we take many hard decisions, become disappointed, suffering from depression, fear of losing someone. Changing friendship, failures, Divorce,  losing a job, getting older, getting injured, and falling sick.

Our Common Moments of life

These are very common. None of us can say that we didn’t face one of them. We all face difficulty or trouble in our lives. Life is not a bed of roses. We have our moments of success and failure, of delight and despair, and of satisfaction and disappointment

I don’t know about you, but reading those words makes me want to be braver, stand taller and dream the boldest dream I can imagine. (If Mandela, despite everything, would not settle for less, what excuse do I have?) The truth is we just don’t know how capable we are, or the things we could achieve if only we were ambitious enough and daring enough to try. Many of us are guilty of living our lives passively, settling for the cards we’ve been dealt because that’s the only certainty we know, and being too quick to interpret setbacks and failures as a sign that we are no good. But what if? What if the only thing standing between you and living an extraordinary life was an unwillingness to imagine a bigger, better life for yourself? Don’t you want to find out what you are truly capable of?

From last few week , I started research on what is peaceful life and on mindful relaxation and I came to know this that the Buddist monks seems so peaceful all the time.This thing stuck in my mind and I searched about Buddist monks . The reason is actually that they follow certain rules of living we don’t.

Today, I am going to share some of the important and basic rules which might seems difficult but they makes our life easy.

Their whole philosophy evolves around the idea of reducing suffer.

The philosophy seem alien to me first nearly impossible and may be to you too , but the truth is it leads to higher happiness 😌

Simplify

When you can develop a selfless attitude, you focus less on personal problems. You get less emotional about small things and your mind becomes calmer.

During online classes and being busy with other stuff, I also couldn’t find enough time to meditate but when I started to do in small chunks like from 20 to 30 minutes, daily I start my day with fresh and with more relaxed mind

We should try to live each and every second moment of our life. Whatever you are doing, do it as it is your last. For example when someone give you an apple and allow you to eat , you will eat it within seconds, but when someone say it’s last apple in the world , you will eat with full joy .Sound funny right, but think about it.
